James started playing professionally at age 16, and despite a career threatening throat injury that took much of his 20′s from him, has forged his way onward to be one of Boston’s busiest and most versatile saxophonists. Along the way he has played with such names as Tommy Flanagan, Bill Watrous, Phil Wilson, Rick Margitza, Bob Mintzer, Jonathon Butler, and a list of local (and not so local) bands and musicians too long to mention.

Jim’s path in music has been winding and challenging – providing him with an inner strength and insight to emotion and sincerity that permeates his music. Currently James is writing material for a few new projects and recordings. Stay tuned.
